This was description of the Package weight PrestaShop improvement
Define a package weight for each one of your carriers. Possibility to define a package weight for each one of your carriers. The selected range by weight for an order is more realistic. PrestaShop allows you to define a weight for each one of your products, and even combinations. This weight will then be used to calculate the shipping fees by weight range. However, you don't have the possibility to define a package weight. For example, the weight of the enveloppe or the box in which you send your products. Thanks to this module, you will be able to define the weight of your packages and better refine your delivery policy by weight range. Let's take the example of 2 products, one for 350g and the other for 500g, added by one of your clients to his cart. Without the module, shipping fees will be calculated on the weight range corresponding to a weight of 350g+500g = 850g. With the module, you will have defined previously the package weight for your carrier to 300g. Shipping fees will thus be calculated on the weight range corresponding to a weight of 350g+500g+300g = 1150g. Your shipping fees are better calculated and you charge your clients for the exact price of what the shipping of their orders cost you.
